 'Necessity is the mother of invention' refers to difficult or impossible scenarios that prompt inventions aimed at reducing difficulty.  This was definitely the case for the creation of LINXGUARD.  The scenario is one that most all riding lawn mower owners can relate...what is the first thing you think of if I were to say "Riding lawn mower" and "Bungee Cord"?  "I use a bungee cord to hold up the deck guard or deflector".  I was one of these people too until the need for something better and SAFER arose.  You see, simply hooking a rope, string, chain, or bungee cord to your deck guard and attaching it somewhere on the mower to keep in the raised position is very dangerous.  One, you have no control of lowering the deck guard unless you stop, dismount, and disengage the linkage and secondly, what can happen when you try to navigate through a tight spot - say a shed door, trailer, gate, etc.?  ...the linkage gets snagged, the deck guard breaks, and debris is likely to fall into the path of spinning blades.  What does this equal?  A hazard to both the body (yours or others) and to property.  After ruining two deck guards, a broken window, and some bent blades, I decided it was time for something different.  This something, after many prospects, ended up being the LINXGUARD Deck Guard Positioner!

LINXGUARD is not simply parts purchased online and packaged together with a claim to make the navigation of your yard easier.  This would have been the easy way to do it! Instead, I worked with engineers, draftsmen, polymer scientist, and many typical lawn mowing folks to come up with a marketable product that is both usable and safe.  Each part of the LINXGUARD linkage assemble was designed from scratch.  These parts can not be found anywhere on the web...because if they were, I would have used them.  Each part was drafted, engineered, and then manufactured using injection molding of a specialized resin designed to withstand applied use force and weather conditions typical lawn mowers are exposed to throughout the year.  I have included a copy of the original engineer drawings of the parts below (they have been purposefully blurred to protect the integrity of design).  Getting an idea down on paper, then developed as an engineered drawing is a daunting task.  Believe it or not...it took almost 2 years to get to this point.  

 In May of 2013, LINXGUARD went into production and subsequently became available for purchase on the web at LINXGUARD.com, eBay, and on Amazon.com.  I have started to reach out to local lawn and garden retailers to carry the LINXGUARD product and have given many products away as part of a donation package for church events and other local charities.  I am hoping that in the near future, I will be able to enter into a retail product demonstration show held annually by Tractor Supply Co.  If your product is unique and catches the eye of the buyers, then you have a decent chance in being picked up for sale at some of their stores.  Depending on how the product sells, there is the possibility to go nationwide and have your product in every Tractor Supply Co across the United States.  I have created a prop to visually demonstrate how LINXGUARD operates, purchased a Trade Show tent to help stand out in the crowd, and just recently finished shooting a video commercial that will eventually be added to YouTube and this web site to provide insight into how this product works and the many ways it can be used to aid in the navigation of your yard.
